Happy Halloween!!
I’m the spirit of Halloween, so we decided to do a spooky themed photoshoot. It was so fun planning this photoshoot!! The day of, we decided to do our shopping and go to different stores to get candles and such because we knew that we wanted to do a seance themed photoshoot.
We pulled into this thrift store that none of us had ever been to before. It was small but it had loads of items that we wished we could take home. But we kept our heads straight and got only what we needed (though we will most likely be going back at some point). We are wondering around this thrift store and picking up candles left and right. We decide that we are happy with the candles we chose and head to the check out. Me, Katelynn & Violet all holding one of the same candle but different sizes. Funny enough, as we went to pay, the lady in this thrift store asked us, “are you guys doing a seance?” Katelynn was in front, so she answered, “yes, we are!” The lady then said, “cool!” And to this day, I’m pretty sure this lady fully believes that we were attempting a seance because we never explained that it was for a seance PHOTOSHOOT.
We stopped at two other stores, grabbing all the candles we could find and by the time we were heading to our photoshoot location, my trunk was filled with candles and other haunting props.
As we got set up all the candles, the realization of how much of a fire hazard this all was hit me. For some reason it had never crossed my mind until seeing all of them played out around Violet (the model). We had Violet lay on her back, and just as I was worried, Violet's hair put out a candle. We all panicked for a moment, making sure no flames were on her when we realized that she got too close. But all that had happened was the flame went out. We got so lucky.
This photoshoot was so fun though and I am so so happy with how they turned out. Between the three of us, we can do some pretty cool things and I can’t wait to do it again.
