Violet and I put our heads together to figure out what kind of photoshoot we wanted to do next. We scrolled through Pinterest as we tried to find an idea to spark a sort of theme. We searched for something especially for spring. It had been a while since I last got my creative juices flowing so I was actually really excited to try something different and fun.

Violet found a reference photo that included specs of rainbows that illuminated the persons face in the photo. This sort of light comes from a light prism. Once we had our idea, we ran with it. And it was perfect because the spring season brings rainbows. Spring brings colors and life back into our lives after a long and cold winter. At this photoshoot, I wanted to honor this theme with lots of color and individuality. I immediately got these prisms to test this new lighting. To my surprise, the prisms sis not illuminate as much as I thought they would. We got some good results from the sun itself but once we had gone inside to the studio space, we weren't able to get the same effect. Which makes sense when you think about it.

She had also brought this glitter that you apply almost as if it was highlighter. To me, this represented the glow of the sun. The feeling of the sun when spring begins and you feel that warmth of the sun on your skin. Suddenly you feel like you are happier and more motivated. At least, this is how I see it.

Another thing I was excited about this photoshoot was the chance to finally getting to use my indoor studio space. If you don't know already, I recently moved into a house! (I used to live in an apartment.) So, I have a garage now! And you know what that means.... A NEW STUDIO SPACE! I can't wait til I am finished with it so that maybe some of you can get some professional portraits done there. This photoshoot was a really fun way to really see what doing photos in this space would look like. I only have my white sheet as a backdrop for now but eventually I will have many options available!! I'm really excited to see how this space helps me grow as a photographer.

Violet, thank you again for being an amazing model. I love getting to do these photoshoots with you and I love seeing how much we have grown since our first photoshoot together. I can't wait to see what we do next :)
