Going into this photoshoot, we were a little nervous about the weather. But, once the time had come to show up at the location, the weather was perfect for photos! Most people usually think that the more light and more sun, the better for photos. But that is actually not necessarily true, especially when it comes to the Texas sun. The most ideal lighting for a photo shoot is actually a really cloudy day.

If you have ever been to a photography studio, you may see that this same concept applies. Instead of using only the flash, usually photographers will place what looks like an umbrella in front of the light, in order to diffuse the light. Doing this spreads the light equally throughout the subject and helps fill in harsh shadows. You know the ones that show up on your face when you are outside on a really sunny day, and you just feel like you can see every bump and crease on your face. This is actually because of the super bright sun that is beaming down on you.

So I like to think that the sun is like the light, and the clouds create a nice soft diffuser over everything outside. This is perfect weather for some outside portraits!

Enough about the sun though, this photoshoot was filled with many fun moments. Another thing about this photoshoot was when we went over to this very beautiful wooden fence. There were horses! And not only were there horses, they actually came over to where we were taking pictures! They were the perfect addition to the style of the fence in the back.

It was so nice getting to meet the Gilliams! Owen & Nolan are gonna do some cool things with their time in baseball, especially with their amazing and supportive mother, Jackie. I actually knew the father beforehand as well. He works with my mom and I always hear about how he helps her at work and such. So, it was nice to see him.

Thank you so much for having me at this photoshoot Jackie & Adam! I hope that you enjoy these sneak peeks as I finish up the rest of your portrait gallery! And, Merry Christmas!! :)
